Intensive Outpatient Alcohol Treatment in Fort Worth, Texas

If you or a loved one are struggling with alcohol addiction in Fort Worth, Texas or DFW, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are an effective solution that allows you to get treatment for alcoholism without having to go to a residential treatment program.

If you have already completed a residential treatment program, intensive outpatient alcohol treatment can be an excellent step down that allows you to ease the transition from treatment into day-to-day life.

What Is Intensive Outpatient Treatment for Alcohol?

Intensive outpatient alcohol treatment (IOP) with ASIC Recovery Services is a weekly program (9 hours a week — 3 hours a day for 3 days a week) designed to help people struggling with alcohol addiction. You’ll also get one individual counseling session once a week. You can choose a day program or an evening program to fit your schedule. IOP can either be a step down from a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or a residential treatment program or can be entered into directly before choosing a higher level of care.

In our program, you’ll get individual counseling sessions in addition to programming designed to teach you coping skills for your alcohol issues. You’ll also participate in group sessions and lectures that help you identify and work through the underlying issues that may be driving your alcohol issues.

Programming includes:

  • Developing coping skills and action plans to attain and maintain sobriety
  • Educational lectures that help you learn about addiction and mental health issues that can make addiction worse
  • Group therapy where you interact with others who are also struggling with drug addiction issues and discuss your individual issues and potential solutions
  • Support for and education on traditional 12-step programs
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques and tools
  • Relapse preventionRational emotive behavior therapyMindfulness
  • Boundaries and codependency
  • Grief work
  • Dual diagnosis (mental health and substance addiction) treatment

ASIC Recovery Alcohol IOP

IOP After Residential Treatment or During Sober Living

IOP for alcohol addiction is an excellent step down from residential treatment. If you’ve recently completed a residential treatment program (or even a detox program), you might not be able to jump back into your day-to-day life without support. IOP provides that support.

IOP also works well in conjunction with sober living as it gives you an additional layer of accountability, education, and support.

In residential treatment programs across Dallas-Fort Worth, 12-step programs are often seen as the gold standard, but by themselves, they are often not enough to help those struggling with alcohol issues. IOP provides that additional support you or your loved one needs to succeed and maintain sobriety.

Alcohol addiction is incredibly complex and can be overwhelming, especially when you’re expected to participate in life, work, raise children, and just generally live life as usual. IOP can lessen the difficulty of living a sober life and give you the skills you need to succeed in your sobriety journey.

Why Choose Intensive Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Over Residential Treatment?

Residential treatment, detoxes, and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) require a large time commitment that simply isn’t feasible for many people struggling with alcohol addiction.

IOP, on the other hand, allows you to continue to work, take care of your children, and meet the responsibilities of day-to-day life while still receiving the help and support you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Residential treatment isn’t for everyone. Not everyone needs to drop everything and go into rehab for 30 days or more.

These treatment programs are often necessary for those who cannot function because of their alcohol issues, but if you’re at a point where alcohol is becoming a problem but is not necessarily destroying your life, IOP might be for you.
